Lynn Penner Ash
interest in winemaking grew out of an early passion for the sciences. After a summer working for the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., she studied Botany at the University of California, Davis, the birthplace of the American wine industry. In her junior year she changed her major to Viticulture. Then, after working the graveyard shift during crush at Domaine Chandon, she changed her degree again, from Viticulture to Enology .

She works at Dusky Goose and also owns Penner-Ash Cellars along with her husband Ron

Susan Sokol Blosser
Founder Sokol Blosser


wine industry pioneer, community activist, environmental advocate, and author, is a contemporary Oregon icon. Known for her leadership of Sokol Blosser Winery, she was a forerunner in instituting environmentally friendly business practices and practicing the triple bottom line concept of people, planet, profit. With its certified organic vineyard, the first LEED (U.S. Green Building Council's certification) certified winery building in the U.S., and business practices based on the Natural Step model of sustainability, Sokol Blosser Winery made social responsibility and its environmental ethic priorities, while pursuing its vision of making fabulous wines. For its leadership, Sokol Blosser Winery has received multiple honors, including Sunset Magazine 's 2007 Green Winery of the Year, the State of Oregon's 2008 Governor's Award for Sustainability in the Small Business category, and Oregon Business Magazine's 2009 100 Best Companies to Work For and 100 Best Green Companies to Work For awards.

Susan holds a B.A. from Stanford University and an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from the University of Portland, citing her entrepreneurship within the context of environmental and social responsibility. Other awards include Lifetime Achievement Awards from Women for WineSense and the Oregon Wine Board. Her memoir, At Home in the Vineyard: Cultivating a Winery, an Industry, and a Life , was published by the University of California Press in 2006, and her business philosophy, Gracious & Ruthless: Surprising Strategies for Business Success, appeared in 2008.

In 2008, she turned the presidency of Sokol Blosser Winery, Dundee, Oregon, over to her children, stepping back with the title of Founder.

Chelsea Brittan

is the assistant winemaker at her family winery in McMinnville. She grew up in the business and along with her travels has gained fast experience.

Elizabeth Clark

is the winemaker for Airlie owned by Mary Wilson . She spend 5 years training before joining the winery

Kim Coleman

winemaker at Coleman Winery in McMinnville manages the enological duties of the winery. She has undergrad and graduate college background in food science and nutrition. She practiced chiropractic for twelve years before pursuing her dream of making wine. Kim has studied at the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley,

 

Tammie Crawford

is currently the assistant winemaker at Anne Amie since 2001. Tammie studied enology at Chemeketa

is the owner and winemaker for Remey Winery located in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley. She makes Italian inspired wines

Isabelle Dutartre

winemaker at De Ponte Cellars. Isabelle studied winemaking in her native France, both at the University of Dijon in Burgundy, but also out in the vineyards and wineries in several of the most well known wine regions in France. As De Ponte's first and only winemaker she has put De Ponte on the map as a boutique producer of exceptional Pinot Noir.

Kelley Stearns Fox

owner winemaker at Kelly Fox Wines. Kelley has been a full-time winemaker in the Willamette Valley of Oregon for 10 years. Her experience includes Torii Mor (2000, 2001), Hamacher (2002, 2003), and The Eyrie Vineyards (2004). She has also worked a vintage in Central Otago, New Zealand. Kelley has been the winemaker at Scott Paul Wines in Carlton, sharing the title with owner Scott Wright, since 2005.

Cheryle Francis

is a winemaker and wine consultant. She consults for Rex Hill Vineyards as well as making Francis Tannahill wines. Cheryle is married to Sam Tannahill

A Los Angeles gal who took her Biology degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland to France where she studied Enology. She worked three harvests in New Zealand before returning to Oregon to make wine

Patty Green

winemaker and co-owner of Patrica Green Cellars in Newberg. She is considered as one of Oregon's top Pinot Noir winemakers.

The Pinot Noirs she seeks to create are based upon an idea of how she believes each individual vineyard expresses its fruit profile and how she can take that individual expression and lay it over a foundation of richness, silkiness and complexity.

Maggie Harrison

winemaker at Antica Terra When Scott, John and Michael asked her to become the winemaker at Antica Terra she emphatically refused. But the three friends are clever. They asked Maggie if she would simply take a look at the vineyard and offer her opinion about the qualities of the site. She reluctantly agreed. Twenty six seconds after arriving among the oaks, fossils, and stunted vines she found herself hunched beneath one of the trees, phone in hand, explaining to her husband that they would be moving to Oregon

Anne Hubatch

Is the owner and winemaker of Helioterra Wines

Anne began her decade-long, experiential wine training with some of Oregon's best winemakers — Eric Hamacher (Hamacher Wines), David Adelsheim & Dave Paige (Adelsheim Vineyard), Joe Dobbes (Dobbes Family Estate/Wine By Joe), and Alfredo Apolloni (Apolloni Vineyards). She enrolled at Chemeketa Community College and began studies in Winemaking.

In 2009, Anne introduced her first solo vintage – Helioterra Wines. The name draws on geological inspirations, symbolizing Heliolite, the Oregon state gemstone (more commonly known as Sun Stone), and terra, the Greek word for earth. The sun and earth are natural partners for the growth of quality wine grapes.

Renee Neely and Laurie Lewis are the owners and winemakers at Chicks Do Wine

Renee took various classes from Oregon winemakers and grape growers; the out of the country tuition in Europe was just too spendy. She attends various seminars and keeps her palate educated by tasting wines.

Gail Lizak

is part of the winemaking team at Ardiri Wine. After an undergraduate degree in Medical Technology/Chemistry, California called and the trek in a Volkswagen bus across the country ensued. After years of research at Stanford and a few graduate degrees, a move to the Napa Valley ensured the family winemaking bug would come alive.

Isabelle Meunier

winemaker at Oregon's Evening Lane hails from the Canadian province of Quebec

She moved to Montréal where she got a degree in hotel and restaurant management. As she immersed herself in restaurant life, she started thinking about food and wine pairings. With a growing interest in pinot noir, a particularly food-friendly wine, she visited Burgundy, France, home of many of the world's most-prized pinots and chardonnays.

She enrolled in university in Dijon, France, where she got a post-graduate diploma in the viticulture, oenology and international commerce of wine. From Burgundy she went to New Zealand, studying at Lincoln University , near Christchurch. She honed her skills at Felton Road and Seresin Estate , both in New Zealand, before journeying to Burgundy where she worked for Pascal Marchand at Domaine de la Vougeraie .

Meunier came back to Canada to be Bachelder's assistant. Then she moved to the Pacific Northwest with her husband, winemaker Andrew Davis, who had landed a job at Argyle Winery in Oregon.

Wynne Peterson-Nedry

is currently the assistant winemaker at Chelem Winery. She graduated with a Masters' degree from UC Davis' Viticulture & Enology program in 2008 and has worked multiple harvests around the world including two vintages in New Zealand, one in Burgundy, and one in California. She officially joined the Chehalem family as assistant winemaker in June of 2009

Athena Pappas

is the co winemaker along with her husband Stewart at Bodecker winery in the Portland using grapes grown in the Willamette Valley.

Darcy Pendergrass

is the head winemaker for Amity Vineyards In 1999, she received her BS in Microbiology from the University of Montana. Upon returning home to her native state of Oregon she signed up for Winemaking courses at Chemetketa Community College in Salem and found her true passion, creating world-class wine, particularly Pinot noir and Riesling

 


Sandee Piluso

is the owner winemaker at Piluso Vineyard and Wines near Aumsville Oregon. After moving to Oregon in the 1970s, Piluso discovered Pinot noir and met a husband a city boy, whom she convince to help her start a winey. The two found acreage in Aumsville, a small town in Marion County, where they worked hard to produce some of the best dessert wines and other varietals in the region.

Luisa Ponzi

winemaker at Ponzi Vineyards graduated from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science. Following her undergraduate studies, Luisa moved to Beaune, France, where she continued her education in viticulture and enology. As part of the required curriculum, Luisa apprenticed with Burgundian producer, M. Christophe Roumier of Domaine Roumier of Chambolle Musigny, France as well as with Italian producer Luca Currado of Vietti in Piedmont, Italy. In 1993, Luisa was awarded the Certficate Brevet Professionnel D'Oenologie et Viticulture

 

Alexandrine Roy

is the fourth generation winemaker at the domaine marc Roy. She is also the consulting winemaker at Phelps Creek Winery, Hood River Oregon

Laura Volkman

is owner, grower and winemaker of Laura Volkman Vineyards. She studied at the Northwest Viticulture Center in Salem, Oregon and has been making wine 10 years

 

Pam Walden

is the owner and winemaker of Daedalus Cellars. Pam took over as the winemaker in harvest 2011 when we produced 16 barrels of estate Pinot Noir, the two Jezebel wines and tiny amounts of Rosè, Cabernet Franc and a sparkling Brut Rosè under the Jezebel label

Lindsay Woodard

is owner and winemaker at Retour in the Willamette Valley. All viticultural and winemaking practices are under her insightful vision with a strong commitment to push the edge, allowing Retour to constantly improve its quality to achieve the highest echelon.
