Horse Heaven Hills

Washington's seventh AVA was established in 2005. Its bounded on the north by the Yakima Valley appellation and on the south by the Columbia River. The total area is 570,00 acres of which 6,100 are used for growing grapes. The primary grapes are Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah.

Perhaps the best known winery here is Columbia Crest.
