In 1996
Tim and Kelly Hightower meet when working for the same company in Seattle their love of wine brought them together. They decided to create their own winery.
The young couple dove into their dream while keeping their day jobs. Months of hands-on cellar rat work and diligent research in their free time paid off with ovations of their inaugural release of 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon.
In 2002 they moved to the Red Mountains purchasing
15 acres of prime, undeveloped vineyard land now growing 5 clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, 4 clones of Merlot and 1/2 acres of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc

A beautiful 25 acre winery.
Larry Pearson winemaker and owner along with his wife Jane began the initial work in 1985.
He selected Red Moutain as he felt it was the best place to grow his favourite
cabernet sauvignon.
Tapteil comes from the Sahaptin language,which is the native language group of the Yakima and Nez Perce tribes.Directly translated it means "narrow" and specifically refers to the Yakima river which gives Red Mountain its unique climate.
Tapteil makes only a few cases of wine each year selling the majority of its grapes Signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah
