The 14 acres of premium vinifera wine grapes were first planted in 1981. The winery is owned by Dr Ron Bitner and his wife Mary. Ron spent many years working in Australia. This Australian experience has lead to the plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz (as the Aussies say) to produce Australian style wines. Ron is currently a member of the Idaho Grape Growers and Wine Producers Commission and Secretary/Treasurer of the National Wine Grape Growers of America Association.

The winery tasting room over looks the Snake River Valley and Owyhee Mountains.
Bitner Vineyards has been named 2009 Idaho Winery of the Year by Wine Press Northwest

Established in 1983 by Stuart and Susan Scott, it is Idaho's oldest independent winery. They produce Small Lots wines including: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Lemberger, Merlot, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, & Pinot Gris. Specialty fruit wines include: Elderberry & Plum and Huckleberry Mead & Honey Mead.

Owned by the husband and wife team of Melanie Krause and Joe Schnerr. Melanie is the winemaker. She started as an enologist at Chateau Ste. Michelle's Canoe Ridge Estate Winery and promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2003. She studied under three great winemakers: Bob Bertheau, Ron Bunnell and Kendall Mix.

The name comes from the history of the Snake River Valley one of volcanoes and water shaping a bizarre and beautiful landscape   This dramatic activity created the shining white hills of chalk, dark columns of basalt, and beds of volcanic cinder in shades of black, red and orange.

The idea of the winery began in 2002 when the eight members of the Clearwater Canyon Winery meet. They all new the history of the area which could trace wine production in the area back 100 years. By 2004 their vineyard was planted and they began producing wines using grapes from Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington. By 2007 half of their wines were produced from Idaho grapes Their goal is 70%

Bill and Bev Fraser planted their vineyard in the spring of 2003. The Canyon County site, in the new Snake River Valley Appellation, was selected for its steep south facing slope, 2,700 foot elevation and abundant Idaho sunshine. The vineyard is comprised of three Bordeaux varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot Their first vintage was in 2005.

South Hills is one of Idaho's smallest wineries, with a capacity of only 1,800 gallons. Located four miles south of Twin Falls All phases from crushing to bottling and labeling are done by Frank and Crystal Hegy and their children. They press their Chardonnay, Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir and Lemberger grapes with an antique Italian press, and all of the wines are hand bottled and corked. Established in 1989

Hells Canyon vineyards were planted in 1981 on the sunny slope above the banks of the Snake River, overlooking the Owyhee Mountains. It is the oldest Idaho vineyard for wine grapes and is made up of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah varietals.

Planted in 1998, on what was once an apple orchard, Parma Ridge Vineyard's vines were selected for Idaho's long, warm summer days and cool nights. The vineyard is planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah, Gewürztraminer, Viongier and a small block of Zinfandel

The winery, formerly known as Pintler Cellars, was founded in 1987 and started as a fifteen-acre vineyard in the heart of the Canyon County region of the Idaho's Snake River Valley . Pintler Cellars joined Corus Estates & Vineyards in 1998. The winery then changed its name to Sawtooth Winery Brad Pintler continues to be the winemaker.

The winery has two vineyards Theestate-vineyard is one of the warmer sites in Idaho. This site is well suited for Cabernet Sauvignon, rather than the traditional "cooler" sites in Idaho. Other varietals planted here includes: Cabernet Franc, Roussannne, Pinot Gris, Syrah, and Merlot.

The newer vineyard is Skyline Vineyard. It is larger and has slopes facing 4 different directions allowing for a greater variety of grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot on the warmer slopes and Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling on the cooler slopes.

The winery sit at the top of Winery Hill; over looking the vineyards and farm land known as Sunny Slope. The winery was founded in 1976. Chapelle Winery is named after the beautiful La Sainte Chapelle in Paris, built by King Louis IX as the court chapel during the 13th century

Today the winery is owned by Constellation Brands, Inc. It producing approximately 155,000 cases of wine annually. Ste. Chapelle produces Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Gewürztraminer and Syrah from Idaho vineyards.

Ste. Chapelle began producing ice wine in 1998 and quickly gained a national reputation for this rare dessert wine. Winemaker is Chuck Devlin

The winery is open seven days a week a tasting fee is charged.

Formerly know as Blue Rock Vineyards. Located near Buhl offers wine tasting by appointment only. Set on a hill overlooking a valley, the winery has an idyllic view. It is painstakingly landscaped with ponds, gardens, and a large, covered patio in the rear featuring a fountain.

Owner Claudia Snyder offers six different wines in her tasting room.

The painting commissioned by the Cunninghams for their label, of three horses, by Idaho artist Polly Barrett, pays homage to the cave paintings of Lascaux on the northern slopes of the French Pyrenees.
